We also provide regular training through Avenue Living University, covering topics such as health and safety, management, cyber-security, and more to support professional growth. Additionally, our leaders undergo immersive leadership training to establish a service framework aimed at identifying and surpassing our stakeholders’ needs and expectations.
Truth & Reconciliation
Through learning and action, we seek to contribute positively to the ongoing process of reconciliation with the Indigenous people of Canada. Our efforts include organizing various speakers to educate our team members, fostering creative collaborations with local artists, and our multi-year commitment to support educational opportunities for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people. We will continue to seek ways to walk the path toward Reconciliation.

Indspire is an Indigenous registered charity investing in First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people in Canada. Avenue Living has committed to a multi-year donation toward the Building Better Futures: Bursaries, Scholarships and Awards Program. Students in this program receive funding to help achieve their education goals, with approximately 90% of recipients graduating and 50% continuing on to a post–secondary degree.
We are proud supporters of UNICEF, a non-profit humanitarian organization focused on saving children’s lives around the globe. They aim to reach the poorest, most vulnerable children, bringing life-saving essentials like vaccines, clean water and education to communities in need. Avenue Living and our trustees are passionate supporters of this cause, and have a long-standing history of patronage and governance involvement.
Women + Wealth serves as a platform for women to share their journeys and advocates for gender equality and prosperity for all. As five-time sponsors, we recognize the importance of closing the gender gap and promoting gender equality within our society and our business.
With food insecurity on the rise in Canada, our teams across Avenue Living Communities decided to take action and support their local foodbanks. Through a month-long Avenue Giving campaign, employees raised over 6,000lbs of food donations, and $11,000 for Canada Foodbanks in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
We‘re committed to using Avenue Giving as one of our cornerstone initiatives each year and do what we can to give those in need a helping hand when they need it most.
Avenue Living Communities was humbled to partner with the 30 Birds Foundation to support the relocation of 45 female Afghan refugees to Saskatoon, SK in the first phase of a four-phase transition program. These refugees were predominantly aged 18-25 and had and to flee extremely dangerous conditions in Afghanistan.
Our partnership was crafted to assist these women and their families with safe, quality housing while settling in their new Canadian homes. Staff-run donation drives, and community partnerships allowed us to help provide essentials such as food, personal hygiene items, bed linens and more.
The Calgary Drop-In Centre is a low-barrier, 24-hour emergency shelter that acts as an entry point to housing and reconnection for adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness. In 2022, Avenue Living volunteer groups were honoured to serve over 500 meals to the centre’s clients.
We believe in the power of inclusivity, unity, and celebrating the abilities of every individual. That is why we are thrilled to participate in the motionball Marathon of Sport, which brings together athletes, families, friends, and communities, while raising funds for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.
Our teammates with Avenue Living Communities consistently work with residents to clean up debris and litter around their homes and in public spaces,; refreshing the true beauty in the neighbourhood for those living and visiting the area. With pizza, refreshments, and a true “In It Together” spirit, we show pride in our community and have fun in the process.

We are passionate about helping kids live happy, healthy lives – and making sure they have a reliable source of healthy food to fuel their school days is one way we can do that. In 2022, Avenue Living was able to fund 24,000 lunches via the local charity Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids. This volunteer-driven group helps to feed 5,500 kids each day through their school lunch programs.
